Reading Goals & Tools
If you have scrolled by my 2012 Boolist page, you’re probably wondering how on earth I plan to accomplish getting ready to move to the other side of the earth, care for a baby, write a blog, and read a whole bunch of books?
I usually read while I feed my baby girl, while doing chores, and other “spare” time I may have. I’d like to share with you some of the tools I use to make my reading intentional.

My Reading Tools
1) Audible is an Amazon owned audio book company. You can purchase a monthly membership that provides you with credits (1 credit = 1 book) download audio books to your ipod/iphone or computer (Apple or PC or Android). I first heard of this tool from a friend who is a voracious reader. She has 2 daughters (and is currently expecting). I asked her how she manages and this is one of the tools that help her accomplish her reading goals.

2) Goodreads “is a privately run ‘social cataloging’ website”(wiki). If you’ve heard/use (d) Pinterest, this is exactly like that except with books. You can build/catalog your library of books (that you’ve read or would like to read), find out what your friends are reading and books they recommend.

3)My Barnes & Noble NOOK Color eBook is a gift I received earlier this year from my Ate (older sister) earlier this year. I love it! It actually works just like a tablet (runs on Android). But most of the books in my 2012 Booklist is in this little thing. I love that it is so compact especially when traveling. I have access to a lot of books without having to lug around tons.
I still read traditional (paper) books. I love the smell of new paper books (as well as old musty ones! I’m weird I know) and I can never part with the ones I already own
My Reading Goal
My natural interests are books relating to marriage, parenting, and Christian theology/living. But I sure would like to broaden my genres and topics.
My goal is to read 20 books but this point I only have 14 on my list. I’m open for suggestions and would LOVE to know your recommendations.
