Jump Rope & Timer

Part of my fitness goals for this New Year was to do some form of exercise daily.

Jump rope has been “it” for me.  It can be such a high-intensity cardiovascular workout that can be done in no time (I have used mine everyday so far this year ;) )  I do this right when I get up in the morning.  It is certainly a more effective way of waking up as oppose to caffeine.

My jump rope work0-out (so far) looks something like this:

1. warm up with light/slow jumping or walking in place for about  2 minutes

2. intervals of 30 seconds jumping and 30 seconds burpees/push ups (SOME MORNINGS I do 30 seconds of recover/rest)

3. do this for 4 – 8 rounds

Why I like Jump Rope Exercises

  • Inexpensive
  • Compact
  • Quick (Usually 4-8 minutes for me)
  • I can do it Anywhere!
