5 Restaurants I Will Miss
Okay, as you are in the process of reading this, my baby MJ and I would be currently enjoying the winter-y mountains of VA with her Nana and Pop-pops. We are spending some quality time with my in-laws before we fly away in February to a place over yonder side of the world.
Anyway.
I have been searching the web recently for copy-cat recipes for these foods. Because no matter how many times I click my ruby red shoes (which I don’t have) and wish these places were in the tiny island of Saipan, it ain’t gonna happen. So. I must. must. must. learn how to make these deliciousness and bless my hubby’s heart (and our tummies) while living Islander style.
Panera Bread - This is one of the places that my husband and I often go to on date nights. Call me a “creature of habit” but, as far as I can remember, I’ve always ordered Chicken Frontega, Hot Panini. I did it so much, my sweet hubby got curious and tried it one time… he never looked back.
Also Panera Bread is one place I don’t mind going to alone and spend hours there.

Chipotle - “It’s not just a burrito” …it’s a “football burrito” is what I’ve always called it! Just because they are so huge, I’ve always gotten them in a bowl. I think I’ve come pretty close to remaking this delightful bowl of flavor and spice but it’s always been hit and miss. Yes. I always get Chicken in a bowl. With all the salsa toppings but extra on the spicy one.

Chick-fil-A – in my opinion , is the BEST fast-food chain EVER. I believe they set a high standard and a great example with customer service . And they make out.of.this.world chicken sandwiches, nuggets, strips! This is probably one place where I can break my “creature of habit” habit. Because I can pretty much eat and enjoy ALL of the items in their menu (not all at one time! eesh.). But still, I’ve always favored Spicy Chicken Sandwich.

Authentic Mexican Restaurants – When hubs and I lived in Richmond VA, we were surrounded with Mexican restaurants! There was a specific one calledEl Paso. This one place we frequented. A lot. Food was affordable and abundant. And the service was superb. We often ended up there every other Sunday after church. Ahhh such sweet memories with friends. And those Arroz con Pollos y Camarones! Sigh!

Olive Garden is one of our more special (or more $) date nights restaurant pick. Therefore, I can’t really say I have a favorite entree’. I’ve always liked and sometimes loved what I get but I haven’t quite hit the “it”. If you ask me what is my favorite thing to eat at this restaurant, I’d say three things: Never ending salad. Never ending bread sticks. And 2 Mint chocolates (make that 4. I usually take my hubby’s).
So there they are. Our favorite places to eat-out.
Do you have any recipes similar or copy-cat of these faves o’ mine?
I’d love to know. Please share.
Please I beg of you
I won’t be surprised if one day somebody discovers that one (or all) of these places put some sorta’ addictive substance in their food. Okay. Just kidding
What about you? What are the restaurants you’d miss if you had to go to a foreign place?

I’ve been hearing a lot about Chipotle, I’ll see if Manila has it also. Mine is also about a Mexican food: quesadilla. So hope you drop by my site at http://www.gastronomybyjoy.com/2012/01/ffiday-crave-for-quesadillas.html
Thanks.
Hey Joy! Thanks for stopping by. I’m on my way to check it out
If there’s anything I love so much, it’s got to be pasta with seafood. Just like the one on the photo above, angel hair pasta with shrimps and cream sauce. Yum!
I hope you can visit my entry for this week’s FTF
