A Personal New Year’s Summit?
I first read this idea from Daniel Threlfall’s blog where he wrote about the Five Benefits of a Personal New Year’s Summit.
A Personal New Year’s Summit. Doesn’t it sound so intriguing? So official? So diplomatic? It really is quite simple. Just a time set aside from the normal schedule. “Alone time”; away from distractions in order to reflect on the past year, pray, plan, and make goals for the coming year.
This is a yearly event I plan to begin in my own life as we wrap up with the year 2011 (only 3 days and several hours left before it’s 2012!). Tomorrow, I have a date with me, myself , and I may tag along too
I have volunteered my mom, my aunt, my cousin, and my brother to babysit my darling babe.
My husband has sanctioned and funded the summit so I am set to go
- Location: Coffee/Bakery shop with free WI-FI
- Time: 4 Hours
- Tools:
- My Bible
- Laptop
- EBook by Amy Lynn Andrews, Tell Your Time
- Journal & Calendar
- Breakfast & Lunch $ (for Panera Bread)
I skimmed through Tell Your Time earlier in the fall and I really liked how concise and helpful her writing was about Time Management. Thirty pages for $2.99 is a worthwhile book to read. I was able to read it at one sitting and knew that I had to re-read it at the end of the year for such a time as a Personal Summit!
So if you’re interested, just click on the logo and you will be directed to her site. I purchased mine through Nook and was able to get a $.99 deal! Sweet! So you may want to also check out the online booksellers (Barnes & Nobles and Amazon Kindle).
What about you? How do you plan to close out 2011?
I know I have so much to be grateful for this past year! And it would be grand to reflect on them and Praise God. And I am pretty excited about praying and planning some goals to aim for the coming year.

I love the tone of this post. It makes me want to know the result of your meeting with you and yourself (just don’t feel like you have to buy two meals for both of you ;P haha) I miss you sooo very much and am very proud of your perseverance through this difficult time for our little family. I want to be a part of your success this year facing 2012 together with our newest member. Love to you both always!
Love you too sweety!
great idea, Chelo!
Planning on taking a few hours (probably just at home) to do this!
already have been working on little bits and pieces for my blog but need to work on personal goals too.
